born in Kurdistan of Iraq, is a lecturer and a writer based at the American University of Iraq-Sulaimani who has been working on the Kurdish issue. Hersh has recently been recognized as one of world’s top 50 student leaders by Hesselbien Student Summit 2013. He represented not only Kurdistan, but also Iraq in the Hesselbein Student Leadership Summit 2013, acting as Iraqi Ambassador during the Summit. Hersh has been to the U.S Congress and discussed the Iraq invasion of 2003 with U.S. senator Jack Reed. In 2012, he gave a speech entitled “Kurdistan Yesterday, Genocide, and Kurdistan today” at the Portland State University (PSU) and presented his project "Rising International Awareness about Kurdish Genocide" at Harvard University.
